What D & K Means to us as a Company
D & K stands for Debbie and Karen - two best friends who grew up side by side as next door neighbors and stayed inseparable ever since. Their friendship was the kind that felt more like family. Debbie was the heart of any room - kind, generous, and full of love. She was known as a second mom to many, always welcoming others with open arms and a warm smile.
In February 2023, we lost Debbie. Her absence is deeply felt, but her spirit lives on in the way we care for others and in the purpose behind our work.
Karen, along with her family has owned and operated CBS Pest Control for over 50 years. As they transitioned to their retirement we knew it was time to step in - not only to continue the legacy of a business built on trust and community, but to carry Debbie's memory forward in a way that feels real and lasting.
This business is about more than pest control. It's about connection, kindness, and continuing a legacy built on love. We're so grateful to have you as part of our story.
why a duck?
If you've seen our logo, you've probably noticed the duck. That duck holds a special place in our hearts. One of Debbie's longtime wishes was to visit the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, TN and watch the famous ducks march through the lobby - something she dreamed about, but never got the chance to experience.
So now, we honor her through that dream. Every time we treat your home or business , we add your name to a special raffle. At the end of the year, one customer will win a one-night stay at the Peabody Hotel - to see those ducks walk just like Debbie always hoped to. It's our way of sharing her light and love, one small moment at a time.
